Play hard, work harder....not really

So, this weekend I had one hell of a crazy weekend. It starts off with Chris getting lost on his way to my house(I don't know how hard it is to follow a sign saying South, but we won't ask). SO a couple minutes late, we leave for CP. Elan told us there is going to be a salsa dance party. Okay I think to myself, I'll lookup salsa dancing on the internet so I can not look like a bumbling idiot(I'll only look one of the two).

We get there after me having to turn around five times(I blame one way streets). Elan tells us that his group is at dinner, so we can hang around the house, until Chris realized he didn't have dinner. Elan coerces Chris into buying him a banana, and getting an Oreo Shake. He suggests I get one too, until I point out its called a MILK-shake for a reason.

Back to the house, Elan's roomate is setting up some sort of machine. Its taken apart, and I have no idea how good he is with electronics, but smoke is coming out of it. Thankfully it turns out to be a smoke machine that he was fixing. We help set up lights adn stuff, and then we discover the greatest treasure there(besides the wonderful company of course).

As they are living in a frat house, Elan's people have access to a full DJ setup, with two turntables and everything. Chris messes around with mixing songs (only a few sounded anything like music). I have fun trying to switch from Prodigy to Chris Brown to Electric Six to Panic! at the Disco. Elan's roomate decides we should stop playing with the equipment, so he takes over and sets up his laptop.

(A quick aside. Elan's roomie loves Techno. and by that I mean thats all he wanted to play all night. I'm not that opposed to othEr peoples' music, but three hours of Techno will annoy anyone, especially when it accompanied only with kids messing with glowsticks...even when I am one of them)

Anyway, if the lack of involvement (no dancing) didn't kill the party, people turning on the lights and stopping the music for five minutes to get drinks was it for me. We all went to the living room and hung out. We used the boken I brought to hit foam peices out of the air. And we had boxing matches. Nothing is funnier than seeing Collins say, "I got one more in me, then getting slapped around by Elan". We met Elan's friend Alex who turned out to be pretty cool. He swordfights(for real, like fencing, not like us), and actually makes his own chainmail stuff.

We decide to head back to the party. Messing with the strobe light to Techno music is pretty fun, though the drunk people are annoying and bothersome. I mean can a person have a shadow fight with their friend and not be bumped into twenty times?

As the party dies down, we end up hanging out with Tina and Ellie, who are interesting, and like us decided the good old sober route. We watch Tina's skydiving video, and we see pics from skydiving. (Note: In half the pictures Joe is in the background looking emo, must be the glasses).

We send Chris to get stuff, and when he comes back he tells me my boken was broken. What kind of asshole breaks somebody else's stuff? Even though it was like 2 AM, I was going to get angry, but Elan calmed me down.

So in the morning, we went to this LARP event with Alex. It was full contact with foam armor, and was really fun. Elan, Chris, and I joined the Roman army for the day, and we were able to borrow a lot of stuff. It was fun, even though I had to wear heavy armor. Chris had lighter leather armor, and Elan backed us up with Javelins. It was fun, I got to backstab a person who thought I was dead, defend the Imperator, and charge a King.

When I got home I was too tired to do anything, in fact I spent Sunday recovering.

I started work Monday, and it is pretty interesting. Its like AP Programming except wiht a much harder project, and no teacher. Having to do this in a new language sucks, and I'm pretty sure my runtime will end up being like an hour. At least I got to hang out with Angela at lunch.

Lyric of the Day:
"Kiss me out of the bearded barley
Nightly, beside the green, green grass
Swing, swing, swing the spinning step
You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress."
-Sixpence None The Richer:"Kiss Me"

Note: I always loved this song, but I never knew what it was. Thanks Joe!

Random Story of The Day:
So, at work I spent the past two days working on an information gathering program to make a database. After I finished, I realized that my database looks exactly like this file that my coworker sent me. Apparently she had already done it for me, and I practically replicated her program for no reason.

I should stop staying up so late....

Today(at a reasonable hour) I get to set up my work stuff, so I'm exited. If this episode of PoT would finish, I would watch it before I go to sleep. Ah well, I'm tired. I really should stop staying up till 1.

Lyric of the Day:
"Today I saw my hero fall apart,
the one who taught me to be strong,
on the outside I look fine,
but on the inside I am dying "
-Papa Roach:"Do or Die"

Random Story of The Day:
I randomly Imed
Person: gwaaaarrr!
Me: hey? who is this? lol
Person: hi there person
Person: a floating presence in cyberspace
Me: no, that name looks vaguely familiar
Person: looking for a friend... *sniff* I'm so lonely
Person: Can you be my friend?
Me: err, sure
Person: You are oh so kind
Person: despite what I've heard about you
Person: You dumbass, one look at my info, you should guess who I am
Me: i realized, i was going to try to guilt trip you lol
Person: Hehe

I did very little to no work today

So, I watched PoT, played basketball(both in real life and in video games), and I ate a whole large pizza. In my defense it was my only meal for the whole day, 'cept for a handful of Apple Jacks.

Good Times though!

Lyric of the Day:
"Oh how I wish
For soothing rain
All I wish is to dream again
My loving heart
Lost in the dark
For hope I'd give my everything"
-Nightwish:"Nemo"

Random Story of The Day:
So apparently an M.O.B tag stands for Member of Bloods, who knew?

Anime Binge!

So I got Law of Ueki. And watched 25 episodes in two days. Only stopping because I ran out of anime. Then I realized I had 3 episodes of Prince of Tennis and Hikaru no Go to watch, so I watched those. I think boredom maybe getting to me.

Elan gave me X-files to watch, hopefully this'll last me long enough for me to get the rest of Law of Ueki. At least Yohance's out of Meyerhoff, so we can hang out.

Anyone who wants to see "Lady in the Water" IM me!

Lyric of the Day:
"Show me the meaning of being lonely
Is this the feeling I need to walk with
Tell me why I cant be there where you are
Theres something missing in my heart"
-Backstreet Boys:"Show me the meaning of being lonely"

Random Story of The Day:
I had the most "amazing" strawberry-banana smoothie today! Even though Elan and I had to come up with a way to make the blender work, our smoothy still came out pretty well. It had chunks of fruit and icy goodness.

Somehow it always comes together

Yesterday Amelia had a pretty fun party. While Elan did miss an exit and came an hour late, bringing DDR made me an appreciated party. I finally met some of Elan's teammates, Tina and Ellie. By the time they came I was finishing up my first game of Risk(where I strong-armed someone into giving me Europe and thus the game).

While Psycho did some crazy stuff in the background I played DDR while doing karaoke. It was pretty fun. Then Elan got the great idea to start a second game of Risk. This game he dominated the Americas, Tina amassed a gigantic army on Austrailia and Asia, all while Ellie and I had a series of skirmishes between Africa and Europe(with me being the agressor of course). In the end we decided the world was big enough for four of us. Mainly as Elan and Tina had to go skydiving in the morning.

Lyric of the Day:
"String from your tether unwinds
Up and outward
(But only)
To bind
I was spinning free
With a little sweet
And simple numbing me"
-Jimmy Eat World:"Sweetness"

Random Story of The Day:
Yesterday while trying to get Amelia's address, I Imed everyone from Elan's buddy list. I ended up giving a person I have never met GMail. I hope she knows that with great power comes great responsibility.

Note: Child must be supervised at all times.

So my family has finally moved, meaning I'm "alone" for now. Know what that means? Days of playing X-men Legends, followed by nights of late night TV, followed by days of sleeping, followed by nights of messing with my laptop.

Of course there's the random genetics book or programming chapter thrown in there.

Lyric of the Day:
"Slow all the traffic down to a complete stop,
'cause you speaking that slang that I talk.
That sassy tempo with that walk,
Maybe the reason that all this teenies may never see me."
-Chris Brown:"Gimme That"

Random Story of The Day:
So I check my Financial Aid package for the college I'm going to. I see that I have, as a balance a large(4-digit) negative number in the balance position. Based on the scholarships I got, there is no way in hell I should owe my college four digit sums of money.

I freak out, and start examining all the Financial Aid documents I have. As I get our my calculator(which has been put away since school ended) to double check their math, I realize something. My scholarships have negative signs in front of them.

So, in short until I pay for books, mandatory fees, and random things my college has on balance that they owe me a four digit sum of money. That makes me happy.

Watch...it may take a while to load but it's worth it

Well, I thought it was pretty funny. And slightly true.

Lyric of the Day:
"The sweat descends,
My psyche bends,
I'll never be the same again.
This soul is twisted but the skin will mend.
My tight young skin covers up a sick palimpsest."
-Les Savy Fav:"The Sweat Descends"

Random Story of The Day:

Me talking about registering for classes.

Me: this is redunkulous
Andy: it's what?
Me: redunkulous, its like ridiculous, but more so
Andy: ah
Andy: a real word, or made up
Me: made up lol
Andy: haha
Andy: I thought so

APs...

So yeah, got the AP results.

Here is what I thought:
Econ(macro): 5, i can do this
Econ(micro): 4, unemployement was tricky
Physics(mech): 4, I now hate physics
Physics(E+M): 2, see above
Stats: 3-4, paying attention would have been useful
Psych: 4, I had no idea what some of the terms were
Lit: 3-4, I always screw up English exams Multiple Choice

Results:
Econ(macro): 5, i can do this
Econ(micro): 5, apparently it wasn't
Physics(mech): 5, apparently I can do it
Physics(E+M): 4, even with making up a FR?
Stats: 4, one week of studying does not make up for a year of gossiping
Psych: 4, if I did not hate the class I would care
Lit: 4, as usual

Well
, my college accepts 4 and above, so I'm happy.

Lyric of the Day:
"Don't cry i'll bring this home to you,
If i can make this night light enough to move,
Don't cry i'll bring this home to you"
-Minus the Bear:"Pachuca Sunrise"

Random Story of The Day:

-I swing danced last friday
-I have a broken toenail

Which was me?

Orientation

Oreintation was fun. Met some new people, saw old friends, and talked to students. Of course, the online registration told me all Gemstone and Math340(class I was invited to take) were full. So when they fix the site I'll have to change my whole schedule. Tired from waking up at 6.

Lyric of the Day:
"You are the sun,
You are the only one,
My heart is blue,
My heart is blue for you"
-The Subways:"Rock & Roll Queen"

Random Story of The Day:
I spent the night in a quad with threee other guys. To change, I decided it would be a good idea to go into the closet. Changing in the dark is not that hard as long as you know where you put your clothes.

Katie saves the day!

For our Graduation present Chris got us (Himself, Joe, Elan and I) tickets to a show with a new band tht he really liked. Angels and Airwaves sounded pretty cool, so we were all looking forward to the show. Heck, Elan was coming up all the way from CP.

Aside: People who break into other people's cars are assholes. Especially when they do it for "fun".

So Joe, Chris and I are on our way to the concert. Halfway around the beltway, Chris realizes that he left the tickets home. We go all the way back to his house, and we realize that his dad can't take us now because he has to go to work.

How the hell are we going to get there?
Who loves concerts and would go with us?

Katie Ryan!

The Subways are a british rock band who opened. They were pretty good, even though their show was much less flashy than the others. A 45-munute set wasn't enough.

Head Automatica was underwhelming. I liked some of their songs, but live they weren't that great.

Angels and Airwaves was pretty amazing. It may have been alot of smoke and strobe lights, but the show was memorable. Though some people thought it was oversynthesized, Chris and I really enjoyed the show.

Taking Back Sunday was pretty good. Though I only knew a few of their songs, their show was enjoyable. Not as good as A+A or The Subways though. I did belt out "Make Damn Sure" at the top of my lungs.

Joe, Chris, and I get to Collins' that night. After a night out we know that there is only thing that can satisfy our appetites. Grilled cheese sandwiches! The noise we make trying to make them wakes Chris's mom, who makes them for us as well as bowls of soup. We watch Pulp Fiction till around 2. I have to finish that movie.

Lyric of the Day:
"Away with these nightmares
Away with suburbia
Shake down away
You marry a role and
You give up your soul til you break down"
-Something Corporate:"Me and the Moon"

Random Story of The Day:

Me: So you like Angels and Airwaves?
Katie: You mean the Tom Show?
Me: Why'd you call it that.
Joe: Dude, it was an hour of "Hi, I'm Tom, formerly of Blink 182"
Elan: He didn't even introduce the other band members...

Celebration Time, it is the 4th after all!!!

So lately, I'vebeen doing alot of celebrating.

First, it was the 4th of July. A bunch of us wer going to go to the harbour, so Elan and Joe hung out at my house. I had never realized that none of my friends knew X-men as well as I do. Of course it comes from being friends with an enthusiast, and playing most of the games. As we are driving to leave for the Metro, I get a call from Shilpa: It appears it migt rain, so we're meeting at Towson instead. No problem, we chill at my house for a bit before heading off to Towson. We meet up with Cara, AJ, Nonye, Davon, Shilpa, and Kezia. We hang around the mall for a bit, and end up going to dinner at The Rainforest Cafe after Chris shows up. Dinner was fun, as was watching fireworks in Calvert Hall while going through some book by Maddox Chris had.

Then I got my laptop! It arrived much earlier than I thought, and this means I leave now to mess with it.

And this is my 100th post!

Lyric of the Day:
"Cause I'm a wishful thinker with the worst intentions
This'll be the last chance you get to drop my name
Cause I'm a wishful thinker with the worst intentions
This'll be the last chance you get to drop my name "
-Taking Back Sunday:"You are so last summer"

Random Story of The Day:
Chris talks to our waiter at The Rainforest Cafe.

Waiter: If you guys want, one of you can sign up for our card, which gets you (blah, blah, blah)
Chris: Does this mean we have to eat here again to use it?

If I did that, I'd be arrested

So Yohance and I went to see Superman. Will, Yohance's "Prison" buddy came with him, which was interesting because I was able to verify the accuracy of Yohance's stories. Apparently Will and his fellow inmates call Yohance "Trinidaddy" because he brought his dad's flag to school. Not content with that nickname(which belongs to me for those who didn't know) Yohance is going to carry his mom's flag this coming week. I don't know many things that can be made up off of Grenada.

Anyway, to the movie. It was interesting. Your normal Superheor movie, it was even better when you are there with a slightly cynical and loud yet clever group. Adding things like "That's just grimy" or "If I did that, I'd be arrested" made this movie very much worth it. Though the couple sitting in front of us may not have been happy with some of the "racier" comments, it was all quite fun.

Also, some of the moments in the movie are incredibly blasphemous. Well not really, but they can be interpreted that way.

Lyric of the Day:
"Are you my lady, are you?
Are you my lady, are you?
The rain is falling down
the cars remain."
-Mew:"The Zookeeper's Boy"

Random Story of The Day:
Last Saturday was Ruthie's sleepover. Apparently Joe and Katie are going to form a duo and tour across the world. Joe's "aight" piano skill and Katie's vocals are going to carry this group far. I was going to make them a myspace band site to make this even funnier, but let's just pretend I did.

Afterword: I felt bad for not carrying through, so here's there band pic for a possible myspace.

Fiends and Fires

Last night was pretty fun. We hung out at Chris' for threee hours while we specualted on the possibility of having spaghetti night. After hearing that Joe and I bought Yu-gi-oh stuff, Chris was inspired to bring out the cards he had from middle school.

After a few ridiculously long matches, we gave up on that and decided to do something else. Luckily, when we called Katie to see what she was up to, she told us there was something at Ruthie's house. Chris goes there while Joe, my brother, and I grabbed some T-Bell. My little brother eats extremely large amounts of Fire sauce, while I can't handle more than one. Ironic, eh?

When we get to Ruthie's, Chad and Chris decide to set up a bonfire. Katie and Ruthie's friend from Perry Hall were nice enouh to get us some graham crackers, chocolate bars, and marshmallows. The rest of the night was chatting and making smores.

So yeah, when everyone cancels the day before an event, it sort of catches you off guard. Ah well, alls well that ends well.

Thanks for the site Joey, it looks like it could be useful or at least interesting.

Lyric of the Day:

"Only in dreams
We see what it means.
Reach out our hands.
Hold onto hers.
But when we wake
It's all been erased.
And so it seems
Only in dreams."
-Weezer:"Only in Dreams"

Random Story of The Day:
So yesterday a bunch of us were hanging around a bonfire.

Chris: You're heating up more than my marshmallow
Katie: I'm burning for you(waves her flaming stick at him)

Joe: This is the best smore I've ever had
Me: You must be very good at handling that stick

Me: Tuua switch seats with me, it will be hilarious when Chris comes back.
Tuua: You always say things will be "hilarious", and they never are.

Joe: Now, I really need some chocolate!
Angela: Well...

Chad: Where do you keep your sugar, Ruthie?
Katie: Right here.
